Apple plans to announce iPhone 13 in September 2021

iPhone 13 Announcements

Everyone knows that the coronavirus pandemic was able to change all industries on the planet. Eventually, even with all its resources, Apple had to adjust its plans to launch the iPhone 12 series. The decision came after it became clear that supply chain disruptions would shift the launch window. However, Apple released iOS 14 in September and then waited until October to unveil the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Despite a more stable situation, the pandemic has not gone anywhere, and this may ultimately affect the release date of the iPhone 13 this year. Now, 9to5Mac reports that Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives has received information from the supply chain, thanks to which it became known that the next flagship iPhone line should be announced in time.

Daniel Ives’ sources say the iPhone 13 should be available for purchase in the third week of September. By the way, this is suggestive of the release dates for the iPhone 11, which was released on September 20, 2019. However, the analyst warns that there may be delays “during product rework”. In the end, according to Ives, this could force Apple to postpone the launch date to early October. Again, this decision may affect only some models. Simply put, there is a real possibility that the release of the iPhone 13 models could be delayed, as was the case with the iPhone 12 models.

It should be noted that rumours and reports regarding the new iPhone 13 line have been circulating for several months now. Some of the latter speculate that the next Apple smartphone will once again receive Touch ID with an under-display fingerprint sensor. In a recent research note, four Barclays analysts reported that Apple is “likely” to place the sensor under the display. Analysts also discussed “a more tightly integrated version of the existing structured lighting system ” that will lead to a reduction in so-called “bangs”. However, it can be assumed that Face ID is likely not going anywhere, even if Touch ID returns.

Rumours about iPhone 13

In addition to the reduced bangs and the return of Touch ID, there were also rumours that the iPhone 13 models will have a 120Hz refresh rate display, more powerful 5G modems, camera upgrades, LiDAR scanners across the line, and larger batteries. There are also rumours that Apple will finally give customers the option to buy 1TB iPhone models. Although these rumours sound unconvincing.

But perhaps the biggest surprise for everyone will be that Apple plans to introduce the same four models that were previously unveiled. The expected lineup is as follows: iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. In fact, this information raises doubts. The fact is, the iPhone 12 mini did not live up to expectations. Many reports claimed that the smallest and cheapest model was the least popular among users.
