IPL Auction 2021 Final Updates
In IPL auction 2021 there were a total of 292 players up for auction. The highest base price in IPL auction 2021 was set at Rs 2 crore. Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav were in that high society club with a reserve price of Rs 2 crore. Others in the list of some expensive players were Mark Wood, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith.
Chris Morris becomes most-expensive buy ever at Rs 16.25 cr
IPL 2021 auction for the 14th edition of IPL was settled in Chennai on Thursday, 18 feb. South African all-rounder Chris Morris surpassed the Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh and grew as the most expensive bargain in the IPL auction history. After a bidding war, Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 16.25 crore for his services.

Morris’ big payday happened after Australian Glenn Maxwell. Who once again attracted a bid price of Rs 14.25 crore from RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore).

Punjab Kings, who moved into the IPl auction 2021 with the maximum amount in purse among all eight teams, paid Rs 14 crore to tag Australian pacer Jhye Richardson. Richardson is 24-year-old, and has played 13 ODIs, 2 Tests and 9 T20Is for Australia. He was the chief wicket-taker in the latest BBL (Big Bash League).
Morris, who appeared with Rs 75 lakh as his base price, generated bids from 4 teams before it converted into a battle between Punjab Kings and Royals. Royals ultimately sealed the deal with the biggest bid in the IPL Auction History. The bid which made Chris Morris the most expensive buy at the IPL auction ever, surpassing the Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who previously bought for Rs 16 crore by Delhi Capitals in 2015.
Virat Kohli remains the most expensive player in IPL, who retained for Rs 17 crore by RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore).
