And you can’t ignore the excess of ‘Happy Holi’ images that pour into your device. What’s more unfortunate is that many of us have ‘auto-download’ feature activated in WA Application.
‘Auto download’ means that every media that comes in your chat, automatically gets downloaded to your phone. And surely captures space without your permission. But there is a method to disable it.
Here’s how to stop auto-download on WhatsApp | On iPhone:
Step 1: Open WhatsApp
Step 2: Tap on Settings gear icon at bottom corner.
Step 3: Tap on ‘Storage and Data’ option.
Step 4: Disable all the options for Video, Photos, Audio and Documents, in the ‘Media Auto-Download’ tab.
Here’s how to stop auto-download on WhatsApp | On Android:
Step 1: Open WhatsApp
Step 2: Tap on the three-dot button on the top right corner.
Step 3: Tap on the ‘Settings’ option.
Step 4: Tap on ‘Storage and data’.
Step 5: Under ‘Media auto-download’ section, you can click on each one of options, Mobile data, Wifi and Roaming and choose ‘No Media’ for all.
And that’s it, no more accidental downloads of videos, images etc. files. You can additionally remove the existing media files that comes through WhatsApp, using the same section.
