Kadaknath Chicken House Management:

Kadaknath breed matures most profitable at a room temperature of 20° to 26° Celsius and a humidity level of 50% to 70%. Either cages or a litter system can be used for nourishing Kadaknath Chickens.

Here, cleanness plays a very crucial role in the nourishment of Kadaknath Chickens. That is why surroundings, as well as shed areas, must be uninfected and uncluttered.

Make sure the area is also free of creatures like cats, dogs snakes, likewise flies as well as mosquitoes. No matter what the season is, proper ventilation and lighting must be maintained.

The floor must be spread with chopped straw, paddy husk, sawdust, etc. and should be free from sharp objects.

The use of concrete flooring will reduce infection, disease, maintenance etc. The roof can be either plastic, fibreglass, coconut leaf, asbestos, etc.

Egg Incubation: After the 6th month, Kadaknath hens start laying eggs in 2 to 3 clutches. Each clutch delivers 25 to 40 eggs and adds up to 100-120 eggs per year. Use artificial incubation, as maximum hatching occurs by placing the eggs into artificial incubation. Enough boxes should be arranged so that the eggs do not fall on the floor.

Diseases and Care:

Babies(chicks) are to be reared in a clean and dry brooder with a temperature of 35°-37.5° Celsius. These creatures can survive under harsh conditions and can efficiently resist several diseases. Do not overcrowd the shed to prevent coccidiosis.
