How to book an appointment and register on the Co-WIN portal? The country is reeling under the brutal wave of COVID-19 infections. Observing this, India has taken the ambitious move to expand the vaccination programme. That is why, the rush at vaccination centres is going to increase sharply.

How can I self-register?

Citizens will be able to register after 28 April 2021. One can book appointments for vaccination, anytime from anywhere. For registration, citizens can use the Co-WIN 2.0 portal or can do registration through the Aarogya Setu app.

How to Register on the Co-WIN portal? Use these documents

Citizens need to book their appointment with his or her mobile number — Visit Co-WIN portal at www.cowin.gov.in

There you need to fill in details like name, gender, date of birth, upload Aadhaar Card or any other photo ID proof like, Voter Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving Licence or Pension Card.

Once you will complete the registration process successfully, you will receive a confirmation message on the same mobile number that you will use for the registration process. A person can add 3 more beneficiaries linked with this mobile number — Use the “Add More” button.

How to book an appointment for COVID Vaccination after registration?

Eligible registered users can schedule their appointment from the ‘Account Details’ page by clicking or taping ‘schedule appointment’ on the Co-WIN portal.  There you have the option to search for the Vaccination Centre of choice by State, District, Block and Pin Code from the dropdowns.

The registered user needs to click on the Vaccination Centre of choice, for the dates and checking the availability of slots. If your preferred slot is available, you can click on the ‘Book’ button. After this, an ‘Appointment Confirmation’ page will come in front of you. Here verify your details for final confirmation and click on the ‘confirm’ button. Once you will confirm your appointment, you can download and save your scheduled appointment.

What should I do if there are no slots?

There would be some cases when you do not get the free slot listed on your screen. It clearly means, here are no availability of slots. In such cases, you have to check appointment slots for subsequent days or weeks. You can also try another vaccination centre near you.

Can I reschedule my COVID Vaccination appointment?

Yes. Once your will fix your appointment, it can be rescheduled at any later stage. But remember to resechdule before the vaccination appointment day.

Second dose? Do I have to Register on the Co-WIN portal again?

No, if you will get the first dose of vaccination, your second dose appointment will be scheduled automatically at the same vaccination centre on the 29th day after the vaccine’s first dose. If a citizen cancels his/her first dose appointment, then the appointment of the second dose will also be cancelled. In case the beneficiary has moved to different city, appointments can be scheduled again for the nearest vaccination centre in that city.

Documents you need to carry to the COVID-19 vaccination centre?

In addition to the Vaccination appointment confirmation letter, a beneficiary must have to carry the photo ID used while registering on COWIN Portal.

Do I need to register on the Co-WIN portal and get an appointment only for private facilities?

Registration and taking vaccination appointment is mandatory for both the private as well as government hospitals.
