World Health Day is a globally recognised occasion that is annually celebrated on April 7, it was founded in 1948. This day is celebrated every year and it has become a tradition since 1950. On this day various educational activities are held so that the general public can feel the importance of health in their lives. And healthcare organizations discuss what they need to do to improve the health of the general public around the world.

World Health Day 2021

In 2021, Health Day is dedicated to the theme of combating the spread of coronavirus infection. The words “Let’s build a fairer, healthier world” became the motto of the Day.
It is no secret that all countries have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but it has been the hardest hit for those communities whose position was vulnerable even before the pandemic. These populations are the most at risk of disease, have fewer opportunities to receive quality health care, and are most affected by the negative impact of measures taken to contain the pandemic.

WHO recognizes the important role of health professionals in helping healthcare professionals understand the health needs of people, in particular at the primary health care level. The Day’s campaign can also serve as an excuse for ministers of health and other government officials to commit to taking action to close the gaps in universal health coverage in their countries and to take stock of the work already done.
